Boston Manufacturing Company
Bring a little Waltham home.
Square Magnet · 4 × 4 inches
A note for later belongs somewhere you will see it again; this magnet adds a picture to that everyday spot. Waltham's Boston Manufacturing Company buildings bring the Charles and the mill's successive sections together, giving textile history a particular riverside setting.
The Boston Manufacturing Company was founded in Waltham in 1813. Its first mill followed in 1814, a second in 1816, and a connecting section in 1843. The buildings beside the Charles record successive stages of textile production, with the river and mill infrastructure closely tied to the enterprise.
The first mill, second mill and connector make growth part of this Waltham story, keeping different phases of the workplace within one river landscape. Keep it beside the week's list, or give it as a small local detail for someone's kitchen.
