Longfellow Bridge
Bring a little Boston and Cambridge home.
Square Magnet · 4 × 4 inches
The shopping list and a picture can share a small corner of the fridge. Longfellow Bridge's piers and towers give the Charles crossing a recognizable form, with the Boston and Cambridge streets connected through the open water.
Longfellow Bridge was built between 1900 and 1907 under engineers William Jackson and Edmund Wheelwright. It replaced the West Boston Bridge route across the Charles. Its piers and towers make that transport history visible, linking the river's open water with the streets of Boston and Cambridge.
The bridge carries the earlier West Boston crossing route into a new engineering form, keeping transport history within the towers and spans of this Charles view. Let it share the fridge with appointments and drawings, keeping the view in the middle of a well-used corner of home.
