Charlestown Navy Yard from the Harbor
Bring a little Charlestown home.
Metal Art Sign · 7 × 5 inches
At the end of a few errands, setting down your keys leaves a moment to notice the view near the door. Dense piers and ships spread through the harbor-facing Charlestown Navy Yard aerial, giving the shore's working arrangement several details to return to.
The 1942 source records a harbor-facing aerial of main yard, ships and dense piers. The yard's piers and buildings connect this particular view to Boston's history of shipbuilding, repair and harbor work. They preserve a working waterfront at the time of the source.
The yard layout connects ships with their piers and shore buildings, keeping Boston's naval waterfront visible as a working place rather than vessels alone. It can bring this particular place to a room at home, with a small wall space enough to enjoy the picture.
