The first textile mill at Albion was built in 1823. The long brick mill that stands today was begun around 1850 and grew in stages in 1874, 1909 and 1921 until it was nearly 400 feet long. Albion was listed on the National Register as a historic district in 1984, and the mill remains the heart of the village.
