Assabet Aqueduct
Bring a little Northborough home.
Square Magnet · 4 × 4 inches
Before leaving the kitchen, check the week's list and the note about your next appointment, with the magnet's little picture sharing that well-used spot on the fridge. Northborough's masonry aqueduct and its reflected arches give the Assabet a piece of water infrastructure to notice beside the river itself.
An 1897 photograph records Northborough's masonry Assabet aqueduct and its water reflections. Preserved in the Massachusetts Archives' Metropolitan Water Works collection, the image documents water infrastructure. The arches belong to an aqueduct, giving this riverside landmark a different purpose from the valley's railway bridges.
The aqueduct connects the river landscape with water supply. Let it share the fridge with appointments and drawings, keeping the view in the middle of a well-used corner of home.
