Bring a little Maynard home.
Slate Desk Plaque · 11 × 7 inches
A book, a pen and a page of work are ready on the desk, with the small plaque set nearby where there is time to notice its picture. The Assabet Woolen Mill's clock tower and brick frontage give Maynard's Main Street a recognizable industrial subject to look at closely.
Maynard's Assabet Woolen Mill is represented by its clock tower and brick frontage along Main Street. The source photograph was taken in 2009. This view carries the mill's recognizable architecture into the artwork, connecting the town's industrial identity with a building recorded long after its early working years.
The mill connects Maynard's street architecture with its working history. It can sit among a few favorite books, giving the shelf a particular local subject as well as something to read.
