Assabet Woolen Mill
Bring a little Maynard home.
Corkwood Coaster Set · Four pieces · 3.75 × 3.75 inches
The cups are ready for tea, with coasters set out around the table and a little time to notice the pictures before everyone settles into a seat. The Assabet Woolen Mill's clock tower and brick frontage give Maynard's Main Street a recognizable industrial subject to look at closely.
Maynard's Assabet Woolen Mill is represented by its clock tower and brick frontage along Main Street. The source photograph was taken in 2009. This view carries the mill's recognizable architecture into the artwork, connecting the town's industrial identity with a building recorded long after its early working years.
The mill connects Maynard's street architecture with its working history. Put them where the kettle's cups are usually gathered, so the view has a place in the ordinary routine of tea at home.
