Big Parker Shoe Shop
Bring a little Berlin home.
Metal Art Sign · 7 × 5 inches
An indoor wall near the entryway or desk is somewhere you pass often, with time to notice the sign's picture between setting down your keys and the next task. Workers gather at Berlin's Big Parker Shoe Shop, making the people beside the workplace part of what you notice in the picture.
The Big Parker Shoe Shop and its assembled workers appear in Berlin's town history, published in 1895. The photograph records people together with their workplace. It gives local manufacturing a human setting, preserving a specific shop within the wider story told by the town's illustrated history.
The group keeps local manufacturing at a human scale, a Berlin shop and its workers rather than a general image of industry. Give it a small indoor wall space where the picture can be seen.
