Car Barn & Powerhouse
Bring a little Maynard home.
Unframed Matte Poster · 11 × 14 inches
A view above a shelf gives the room something to look at between the day's ordinary tasks. Tracks curve toward the Maynard trolley bays, with a brick chimney behind them and the cars gathered at their working home.
Maynard's car barn and powerhouse appear in a postcard mailed in 1906. Curving tracks lead toward trolley cars in their bays, with a tall brick chimney behind. Together, those details show the buildings and equipment that supported the street railway beyond the cars people saw in town.
The car barn shows the facilities behind a streetcar journey, keeping Maynard's transport story attached to the people and equipment that supported it. Frame it in a way that suits the room and keep the historical connection nearby for anyone curious about the picture.
