Fort Independence and Castle Island Pier
Bring a little South Boston home.
Corkwood Coaster Set · Four pieces · 3.75 × 3.75 inches
A visit from friends can begin with setting down cups and glasses, leaving a moment to notice the pictures beneath them. Fort Independence and the fishing pier sit within a wide harbor-facing Castle Island view, with the shore and water extending around the fort.
The 1973 source records wide harbor-facing Fort Independence and fishing pier. The naval waterfront brought construction, maintenance and transport together beside the harbor. This particular view records the practical shore facilities that supported that work at the time of the source.
Fort and pier connect a defensive landmark with waterfront recreation, keeping Castle Island's harbor setting as part of the subject rather than a fort alone. Use the set when friends come over, with a view under each drink and the local connection there to share.
