E. N. Jenckes Store — Douglas, Massachusetts Woven Blanket

Home Decor · Artwork / 60" × 50"

Home has a way of finding you in the smallest moments. A summer evening on the porch. A blanket close by as the light fades. A white country store on a quiet road. This E. N. Jenckes Store blanket brings that feeling home.

A merchant named Balcom opened a general store here as East Douglas grew into the busy center of town, and Edward N. Jenckes bought it in the 1880s. He kept adding on until, by 1895, it looked much as it does today. In 1972 his daughters gave the store to the Douglas Historical Society, which still runs it as a museum, and it joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Maybe Douglas is where you grew up or where your family put down roots. Keep this 60″ × 50″ woven blanket on the couch, or give it to someone who would smile at the name. A familiar place, a little closer to home.
