Exchange Square
Bring a little South Acton home.
Ceramic Mug · White · 11 oz
Pour a cup and take it over to the desk for a few quiet minutes. Two attendants stand beside a streetcar in South Acton's Exchange Square, giving the transport scene a small group of people to notice.
A postcard published by 1911 shows a streetcar and two attendants in South Acton's Exchange Square. The source records a specific town-center transport scene. The square's name and the people beside the car give this view a local identity within the wider history of electric street railways.
The square's name and streetcar connect local gathering with travel, a South Acton subject that keeps village life in the picture alongside the vehicle. Keep it for the next cup after a few tasks, with the picture there to notice while you sit at the table.
