Exchange Square
Bring a little South Acton home.
Unframed Matte Poster · 11 × 14 inches
On the way to a favorite chair, there is time to notice the picture on the wall. Two attendants stand beside a streetcar in South Acton's Exchange Square, giving the transport scene a small group of people to notice.
A postcard published by 1911 shows a streetcar and two attendants in South Acton's Exchange Square. The source records a specific town-center transport scene. The square's name and the people beside the car give this view a local identity within the wider history of electric street railways.
The square's name and streetcar connect local gathering with travel, a South Acton subject that keeps village life in the picture alongside the vehicle. Frame it in a way that suits the room and keep the historical connection nearby for anyone curious about the picture.
