Swan Tavern — Leicester, Massachusetts Woven Blanket
Home Decor · Artwork / 60" × 50"
Home has a way of finding you in the smallest moments. A bright snowy afternoon on the common. A warm throw across your lap. A white-columned front looking out over Washburn Square. This Swan Tavern blanket brings that feeling home.
Swan Tavern began as an inn for travelers on the Middle Post Road between Boston and New York, and Reuben Swan bought and enlarged it in 1781. In 1842 card-clothing manufacturer Hiram Knight bought the house and gave it the grand columned front it wears today. It still anchors the Washburn Square–Leicester Common Historic District, listed on the National Register in 2006.
Maybe Leicester is where you grew up or where your family put down roots. Keep this 60″ × 50″ woven blanket on the couch, or give it to someone who would smile at the name. A familiar place, a little closer to home.
