USS Braine at Boston Navy Yard

On the way to a favorite chair, there is time to notice the picture on the wall. USS Braine and dock workers share the Boston Navy Yard scene, with the damaged destroyer's documented repair setting at the center of the view.

The 1946 source records an administrative-history photograph of a damaged destroyer and dock workers, following attacks identified by its primary caption. The yard's piers and buildings connect this particular view to Boston's history of shipbuilding, repair and harbor work. They preserve a working waterfront at the time of the source.

The ship and workers connect naval service with the work of the dock, keeping a sober record of repair within the yard's history. Give it space near a favorite chair, where there is time to look more closely at the picture.
