Bring a little Boston home.
Corkwood Coaster Set · Four pieces · 3.75 × 3.75 inches
A visit from friends can begin with setting down cups and glasses, leaving a moment to notice the pictures beneath them. The stone edge, basin and wharf buildings lead toward Commercial Wharf from Pier 3, giving Boston's harborfront a particular viewpoint across the water.
The 1973 source records stone edge, harbor basin and wharf buildings, location given by photographer. The view preserves a particular relationship between Boston Harbor and its shore. Water, buildings and routes form a record of local maritime life at the time of the source.
The pier viewpoint connects Commercial Wharf's buildings with their harbor basin, keeping the water-facing relationship within Boston's changing waterfront record. The set can be a useful gift for the table at home, with the local subject part of the cups and conversation.
