Commercial Wharf from Pier 4
Bring a little Boston home.
Metal Art Sign · 7 × 5 inches
An indoor wall near the entryway or desk is somewhere you pass often, with time to notice the sign's picture between setting down your keys and the next task. Harbor water and industrial chimneys appear with Commercial Wharf from Pier 4, giving the shore architecture a working background across the basin.
The 1973 source records wharf, harbor water and industrial chimneys. The view preserves a particular relationship between Boston Harbor and its shore. Water, buildings and routes form a record of local maritime life at the time of the source.
The pier-to-wharf view connects Boston's warehouse waterfront with water and industry, keeping the surrounding harbor landscape attached to the buildings rather than showing them alone. Give the sign a place indoors where you can notice its picture during the day.
