View of East Boston, Mass
Bring a little East Boston home.
Metal Art Sign · 7 × 5 inches
A small wall view can catch your eye between coming home and setting down your keys. Wharves, ships and dense shore development give the East Boston bird's-eye illustration a working harbor district to look across rather than one waterfront building.
O. H. Bailey & Co. published this bird's-eye view of East Boston in 1879. Dense wharves, ships and harbor water give the district its working waterfront setting, before the modern airport shoreline. The illustrated panorama is a historical view, rather than a survey photograph, preserving the publisher's presentation of the harbor district.
The illustrated panorama connects East Boston's streets with its maritime shore before the airport waterfront, keeping the publisher's broad district view within the harbor record. Give it a small indoor wall space where the picture can be seen.
